I just posted several blog entries I'd been working on right before the right side of my face became paralyzed :) At that time, I was playing with sequences for awakening Agni, or Internal Fire, based on the Sun Salutations (note to advanced students: in my experience, nothing works better for this that Sirsasana, Kapalabhati, Standing Arch, Nauli, Mayurasana -- in that order). Since the Bell's Palsy, I've been working on sequences to calm Vata (or excess Air), so practice has changed somewhat. Perhaps I'll write more on the Ayurvedic aspects of sequencing later, if anyone's interested, but at least, I would strongly recommend the work of David Frawley.
Paralysis has been an amazing teacher, and happily it's temporary, but it's beautiful, in practice, to have one nerve (the seventh cranial nerve) actually IN Corpse Pose! All sensory input, absolutely no motor output. Injury is invariably the best teacher. Feedback is immediate...
Just wanted to drop a quick note as I've been away for a while exploring the new state my body is in.
If there's anything you'd like me to write about, drop me a note, eh?
Namaste,
Jamie
